Tour a former plantation and visit one of America's few museums on slavery

In 1860, there were roughly four million recorded slaves in America. The Whitney Plantation pays homage to them, and delves deeper into the lives of the slaves who worked the land there from its establishment in 1752 until slavery's abolition. This plantation tour will take you to slave cabins, and past various memorials and art pieces commemorating Louisiana's slaves. You'll also be able to see the big house from the poignant vantage point of the slave jail on the grounds.
